The Mustard Seed Project

October 4, 2004

I am taking a break from the Life Disguises series in the eVangel, but will return to that series next week. This week, I want to focus on the “mustard seed” faith we discussed yesterday, and the challenge I extended to each of you to exercise that smallest faith to move mountains. Many who receive this newsletter were not in attendance at yesterday’s service, and may want to join us in our mustard seed project.

The challenge is that each of us will begin praying, exercising even a mustard seed amount of pure faith. The only caveat, you should pray for someone or something other than yourself.

I challenge you to pray, in faith, believing that God will “move a mountain” on behalf of someone else. It may be a health related issue, or that God will provide a blessing, conflict resolution, or whatever need God impresses upon you.

Pray without ceasing. (Don’t pray one time, but at least daily until the answer comes.)
Pray believing God will work the miracle.
Pray with faith, and doubt not.

When God answers your prayer, please share it with the congregation and me.

It is timely that we should do so. There are many needs, physical and otherwise, in our congregation. The power available to us through prayer is awesome, and if each of us moves a mountain through a mustard seed (the tiniest amount) of faith, what blessings we will soon experience.
